Nationwide Roadside Assistance
“Towbuster” is our 24 hour nationwide towing & roadside assistance program with rental reimbursement, medical first aid, tire service, battery service, map service, locksmith service, and a theft reward program.
There are four different options to choose from in either a six month term or a twelve month term:
Plan A: 5 miles of included coverage
Plan B: 15 miles of included coverage
Plan C: 25 miles of included coverage
Plan D: 35 miles of included coverage
*The included miles begin from where the members automobile is located.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ON AAC/NSD TOWBUSTER PROGRAM
Q: WHAT IS MEANT BY A “DISPATCH MOTOR CLUB PROGRAM?”
A: The member dials a toll free 800 number, 24 hours a day, anywhere in the continental U.S. & Canada and an operator will dispatch a service vehicle to help. The member just simply signs for the service and is covered up to the plan limit. (Plan A=5 miles, Plan B=15 miles, Plan C=25 miles, Plan D=35 miles.) The member must pay the difference between covered limit and the cost of the tow if the member goes over the covered mileage. The average cost per mile is between $1.50 and $2.00 per mile.
Q: ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS TO THE NUMBER OF DISPATCHES A MEMBER CAN MAKE IN A CONTRACT PERIOD?
A: The Towbuster dispatch program has a limit of 5 disablements per contract period. There is a one service per incident limit or every 72 hours and the service is for the named vehicle listed on the contract.
Q: MUST I HAVE THE TOWBUSTER CONTRACT IN MY POSSESSION IN ORDER TO BE SERVICED?
A: Yes. The member should keep the Towbuster contract in possession in order to be serviced by the tower. Should the member not have the contract in possession, the customer service will try to look the customer up by name or address in our system. If we can’t find the member, then the member may pay for the assistance and submit the receipt to Nation Safe Drivers for reimbursement.
Q: WHO IS COVERED UNDER TOWBUSTER?
A: The vehicle which is listed on the Towbuster contract.
Q: IF I REPLACE THE LISTED VEHICLE DURING THE CONTRACT PERIOD, DO I NEED TO NOTIFY ANYONE?
A: Yes. If the customer changes vehicles the agent must fax a change request form to NSD at (954) 698-7189.
Q: WHAT IS MEANT BY “EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE?”
A: “Emergency Road Service” consists of the following services:
a) Mechanical First Aid: Any service requiring a minor adjustment (exclusive of parts) to enable a disabled vehicle to proceed under its own power.
b) Tire Service: Changing an inflated spare from mount to wheel.
c) Battery Service: Attempting to start vehicle with a booster battery.
d) Delivery Service: Delivery of an emergency supply of gasoline, oil, or water and other accessories and supplies as may be required and available. The member shall pay for cost of materials delivered. No additional labor charges such as winching, clean up or waiting time will be covered.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE CAN’T BE DISPATCHED?
A: If for any reason road service cannot be dispatched, the member MUST receive authorization from NSD to use a garage of his choice, and upon presentation of the original paid tow company’s receipt, the club shall reimburse the member up to the amount of the plan selected. Plan A $35 – Plan B $50 – Plan C $75 – Plan D $100.
Q: DOES THE TOWBUSTER COVER A MEMBER IF THEY ARE INVOLVED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT?
A: Yes, the Towbuster plan covers the member’s vehicle if it is involved in an auto accident.
Q: WHAT IS MEANT BY LOCKSMITH/LOCKOUT SERVICE?
A: If keys are locked inside the members’ vehicle, the member may call the dispatch service for assistance. If for any reason the dispatch service cannot be provided, the member may use the nearest locksmith for service. The club will reimburse the member up to $25.
RENTAL CAR COVERAGE
Q: DOES THE TOWBUSTER AUTO CLUB COVER THE MEMBER FOR RENTAL CAR COVERAGE?
A: Yes, the Towbuster reimburses the member if they are involved in an accident and need to rent a replacement vehicle.
Q: WHAT IS THE COVERAGE AMOUNT THAT MEMBER RECEIVES IF THEY NEED TO USE THE RENTAL CAR REIMBURSEMENT?
A: Plan “A” $10 a day for up to 5 Days
Plan “B” $15 a day for up to 5 Days
Plan “C” $20 a day for up to 5 Days
Plan “D” $25 a day for up to 5 Days.
CUSTOM TRIP ROUTING
Q: HOW CAN A MEMBER TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE CUSTOM TRIP ROUTING SERVICE?
A: Just fill out the map service postcard and mail it in or simply call NSD at (800) 338-2680 and receive a computer generated color map with marked route to destination points.
THEFT/HIT & RUN PROTECTION
Q: WHAT KIND OF THEFT/HIT & RUN PROTECTION DOES A MEMBER OF TOWBUSTER RECEIVE?
A: The member’s covered vehicle receives protection for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This offers a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for “Hit & Run” damage to your car. NSD will pay a person, (excluding member’s family or relatives) $500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person for the theft of a member’s vehicle or tagged valuable articles.
